Well, the first question you may be asking is, "what is a reed diffuser in the first place?" What may be sounding like an electrical musical instrument terminology is actually a lot less technical and a lot more aromatherapy-based instead. It is an amazing multi-purposed item to have in the home.
So, before we understand what reed diffuser oils are, we must understand what reed diffusers themselves are. As porous stemmed plants that could resemble tiny bamboo sticks, they are structured so naturally to carry up fragrant oils and out into the air to smell great.
But, where do they come from?
The natural scent diffusers are found in large bunches together near water.
Reeds can also be mistaken for tiny wooden branches, and it is simply that (a mistake). Reeds are their own family of plants, and they are the only stems that have the right level of porousness so fluids can travel from the bottom to the top of the stem to be released into the air at a natural rate.
A nice way to think about these reed stems is to envision a group of naturally-looking straws, and these are how the oils are traveling up miraculously.
Bundled packages of reed diffusers and diffuser oils are very easy to find at interior design shops. They always are elegantly packaged in one box, with a vial for oil storage, a tied bundle of the reeds, and a cute-looking jar to place both the reeds and the oil to get things started.
While some reed diffuser oils are mainly organic, there will be some that have artificial scents added to them. This is all dependent on how easy it is to extract the fragrance from the plant.
The package is so decorative that it can be placed in just about any room of the house. The scent will just liven up that living space just nicely.
Without dealing with soot and flames, you can enjoy the comfort of knowing that you will not need to monitor your reed diffusers for fire that may get out of hand. You also won't have to worry if you own an ionic cleaner, for those won't get clogged so fast with frequent candle usage.
When you are purchasing a reed diffuser oil package, oftentimes there is no refill for the oil! Once the reed has diffused the last drop of oil, you have two choices: buy another entire package, or simply refill the jar with more essential oil.
It would be the far more sustainable choice to simply purchase a reed diffuser oil refill, and keep the original reed stems and its complimentary jar (especially if the jar already makes a great addition to your living space's interior design).
